Aloha Africa Returns to Storybook Theatre's Peace Garden
Aloha Africa returns to the Storybook Theatre's Peace Garden after an enthusiastic reception in February. The group will give a workshop and concert on April 24th, 2009. The Aloha Africa Ensemble features Obuobi Ashong, Ernest Borketey, and Nii Anang, guest artists from Ghana, West Africa.
Master drummer Ernest Borketey will conduct an African drumming workshop from 4:00 to 5:30 upstairs at Storybook, for a fee of $15. Drums are provided.
At 7:00 pm, the Aloha Africa music and dance ensemble will perform traditional songs, powerful rhythms, and exuberant dances. The audience will have a chance to dance to joyous African beats in the Peace Garden at Storybook Theatre. Suggested donation is $15 for adults and $5 for children.
